I’ll be the first to admit I was all up in arms over it, but today is a new day and it’s in the past. I looked up Esperanza Spalding today and she’s pretty talented; she’s sort of a breath of fresh air. Not many contemporary artists have classic talent like she does. I’m still unsure about her winning just because I think there should be a popularity factor involved (this being said I STILL don’t think JBeibs deserved it). We should know who the “Best New Artist” is before she wins, you know? But with all the controversy it should be clear that she won for a reason; she has a quality about her. So people get over it, your complaining won’t change the past.
Oh and the hypocracy of “counterculture” folks hating too on Esperanza, thinking JBeibs should have won because he’s more popular…
Um that’s sort of a douche claim. I would say that Madonna was so great and influential that she has left an imprint on fashion that has lasted to this day and beyond. And Madonna isn’t the Virgin Mary of high, tight pony tails; she didn’t give birth to it by herself, she was influenced by someone/something else. But of course it’s easier to say “wannabe” and insult Gaga instead of being practial. I get it guys
It was solid, pretty good. My face isn’t melted away like it was for her “Paparazzi” performance two years ago. I doubt she’ll ever top 2009.
I just realized the grammys are on TONIGHT and Gaga is performing!!!
I’m feeling really giffy right now.
